Located approximately 30 minutes walk from Shivapuri Heights Cottage is this lovely Monastery that is well worth a visit and the walk itself passes through a few quaint traditional Tamang Village houses.

There are approximately 50 monks in residence. The best time to visit is around 3:00 pm since often the monks will be in prayer. With permission visitors are welcome to enter the Monastery building and sit quietly for a while to soak up the beauty and energy of the place. One should remove shoes and hats before entering and a small donation in the box is customary. The caretaker monk’s name is Pema la.
